Behçet Güleryüz

After completing his primary, secondary and high school education in Lüleburgaz, where he was born and raised, he received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Bilkent University and his master’s degree from Istanbul Bilgi University Cultural Studies program. In 2013, he completed his PhD at Marmara University with his thesis titled ‘Representation of the Countryside in Turkish Cinema’.
In the same year, he received his assistant professorship from Van Yüzüncü Yıl University, Department of Cinema and Television. Between 2007 and 2022, he worked as a lecturer at Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts. He directed the movie A Strangeness to Watch: Van Lake Monster was included in the 59th Antalya Golden Orange National Documentary Selection in 2022.

He is currently a faculty member at Haliç University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Cartoon and Animation.
